We work in 100% cotton and linen, and focus of providing lively contemporary design, which retains a strong African feel. Our craftswomen specialise in extremely fine work, using the smallest hook, but many are equally at home controlling very large sculptural pieces.
The group takes great pride in their skills, which are of a very high level – our work has travelled to some of the best design stores from Japan to Amsterdam.
We are known for the emphasis we place on interesting colour and pattern mixes, and obsessively invent new toys, cacti, and animals, as well as scarves and jewellery.
The project is based in Hout Bay, where most of our craftswomen live in Imizamo Yethu informal settlement.
Visitors are welcome at our studio in Woodstock, to view samples and purchase stock. (By appointment.)
